Marci Winters grew up on the stage, performing in musical theater and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas, Austin, in Radio, Television and Film. She is certified in Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Chi Quong, and Mediation and holds an Emergency Teaching Credential. Marci wrote, produced, directed, cast, and wrote the some of the soundtrack for the PBS family film SWEETWATER (premiered in Los Angeles, screened at the Alamo Drafthouse - Her short films have premiered at the SXSW Reel Women in Film Showcase). Additionally, Marci co-authored GIRAFFE JUICE, a book for young people addressing bullying with compassionate communication (translated into Korean). As the founder of EMPOWER, a life skills program implemented in public, private and special needs schools, Marci ran CampPassionate for the Arts, an overnight camp at the Austin Hostel. By creating a supportive environment to nurture young people’s creativity, thousands of students have achieved great success under Marci’s tutelage. Her students includes Austin Musician/Actor SHAKEY GRAVES, the lead in Disney’s THE BLACK STALLION, Biana Timimi, as well as Glen Powell, co-star with Denzel Washington’s in THE GREAT DEBATERS..
Marci offers academic tutoring/private acting/voice/beginning guitar instruction.
